In the Flow
Words like affluence and currency give us a feeling of flow. In fact, both terms derive from Latin terms for flowing. A sign of prosperity is a healthy flow of money. The hallmark of our current economic crisis is that money is locked tight. It is not flowing. Stagnation has caused much of the problem we currently face.
The Fehu Rune gives us a good analogy. Ancient Norsemen and Germans considered dairy cows a form of wealth. The more cows, the more milk. The more milk, the more a family prospered. One cow fed the family. More cows provided extra to make trade items such as cheese and butter. This was all contingent on a healthy flow of milk. If the cows stopped producing milk, the flow of wealth stopped. Unhealthy cows meant stagnation. The farmer would have to tend to the needs of his cows to get that flow started again.
Money is not the only thing in life that flows. The circulation in our bodies is our health. If circulation of blood, air or bodily fluids is blocked, it causes illness and even death. Our emotional, mental, and spiritual health is also contingent on a healthy flow. Stagnation leads to decay.
Let the current economy and the Fehu Rune provide examples of the contrast between flow and stagnation. When good flows freely, health waxes strong. That goes for finances, well-being, and everything else.
