Prospering Notes

For 25 years I have been interested in Prosperity and the means by which more people can attain more good in their lives. I believe that people can improve their well-being. Here are a few of my observations that you may find useful. Please note that these are not out of a book or course, but are things I have actually observed and conclusions I have drawn from them.

Poverty and Prosperity are lifestyles. Each is its own way of living, thinking, perceiving and behaving. The presence or absence of money does nor change the habits that lead to plenty or need.

Habits can be changed. Even the most ingrown of bad habits can be replaced with good ones. It usually takes time and effort.

People can learn attitudes. Some people seem to be born with courage, honesty, wisdom, insight, strength, or other virtues. Others can learn these virtues. A person can become honest, wise, brave, or whatever else through effort and desire. Good attributes can be learned.

The only sure way for the poor to become prosperous is a change of lifestyle and the habitual thinking that goes with it.

Prosperity cannot be measured by the accumulation of money and goods. Prosperity includes financial well-being. It also includes mental, spiritual, social and physical health. Money without the others is cold comfort.

The greatest obstacle to Prosperity is the belief that the material world is opposed to the spiritual realm, and that material well-being is the antithesis of spiritual propriety.

A person may earn prosperity, but he does not have to earn the right to have it.

Principle is not bound by precedent. Just because it has not occurred for you before does not mean it cannot happen for you now.

A key element in Prosperity is accepting that our personal wealth is right and good. Many have to overcome the old mentality that treated poverty as virtuous.

The change to prosperity requires effort and serious changes. It cannot be limited to reading and thinking.
