Looks Talk
Before you get close enough to speak, you tell others something about yourself. Your appearance sends a message. Your attire, your walk and your manner of carrying yourself all broadcast a message. Fair or not, your looks determine whether others will want to interact with you or not. They also contribute to the type of interaction you might have.
Your appearance is an expression of yourself. During working hours, people dress according to the work they do. A construction worker might wear a flannel shirt, jeans and work boots, while a lawyer might wear a new suit. The clothes tell what you do. How you wear them tells more about you as an individual. The same goes with clothes that do not reflect our work. People dress as an expression of themselves. Not only does it say who they are, but also the impression they want to make. They dress to express and they dress to impress. No matter what the attire, it is how the person wears it and how they act that sends an equally strong message.
Appearance tells people who you are long before they ask. That is something to consider. Does your appearance tell a true story? Does it tell the story you want it to tell about you? This is certainly something to ponder.
