A simple devotion
A simple offering is all it takes. One of the simplest is to cast nine copper coins into a lake, stream, river or the ocean. The act is symbolic, but profound.
A small devotion which we practice is to throw all of our pennies in a separate place. We use a Lionel train bank Every time we come home from shopping or a day out, the pennies are separated from the change and then put in the train bank. Once a year, we make our offering of pennies.
The idea may sound quaint and superstitious, but consider it further. The collecting of coins is a way of recognizing the Gods in them midst of our comings and goings. The annual offering takes it a step further. We know that the Gods do not need our pennies. The entire thing is symbolic, and in that it has meaning.
Rather than big and ostentatious offerings, try a simple devotion that keeps you connected to the Gods. You will like the results.
