Infusing Magick
An old bit of magickal knowledge concerns matter. It is well known that matter can absorb emotional energy. That ought not be too hard to understand. After all, talismans and amulets are material things which we infuse with magickal energy. That same energy connects with emotional energy. They have a similar nature.
An example would be places. Rooms, cellars, shops and other places absorb the energy of those who abide there. Indeed, a place radiates the feel of the folks who inhabit it. The gloomy, depressing feeling of cheap gin mills is the composite of those who spend time there. The home of a happy family radiates a light and pleasant feeling.
The same happens with smaller things. If you make something, you tend to infuse energy into it. The art work not only reflects its maker aesthetically. It also carries a bit of the energy and mood he had while making it. You leave a little charge of energy with anything you make, and more so if it is something you truly enjoy. You cannot help but impart some of yourself into it. Most of the energy comes through your hands.
Art is an expression of the artist in more ways than one!
It is a good thing to have an art, craft or hobby that involves making something. It can be anything fro ma pie to a painting to a pewter toy soldier. When you touch it and work with it, you impart something better into it. Your work of art is more than an object. It is a piece of the best of you, shared with the world.
