Sometimes the truth is like seeing a gigantic, multi faceted gem. Each facet is a portion of the truth. The more facets we see, the more we know of the gem’s shape. The less we see, the less we know. When truth is only partial, it can become falsehood.

I have heard it said that when a person seizes onto one truth, to the exclusion of all others, that truth becomes a lie and he becomes a fanatic.

An expanded vision is a safeguard against self-delusion. We need to enlarge our understanding. Indeed, we can never say that we know it all. There is always more to learn. Indeed, the more we learn, the more we see how much more that we do not know.

That in itself is something to ponder.
