Just Thinking….

When I had started compiling the materials for my books, I never thought things would get so far. Nor did I ever think that these materials would far exceed the simple lessons that Willi had given me. There has been much work on my part, most of which was first compiled into The Road to Bifrost. The later monographs were either classes we taught, later lessons or other areas of research. Fortunately, I had significant background in esoteric studies and magickal work.

I have been asked to write a book of just the things Willi taught me. An attempt was made, but so much has changed. Willi had pretty much took what he had, and left it at that. He never did much further experimentation or research. On the other hand, I did look further afield. For me, those early lessons were not the whole thing, but a starting point. My goal was not to restore, but to reveal and build.

Some 30 plus publications later, and I am still discovering things. I am also finding new ways to teach important lessons. You see, my friends, it was not in learning, but in using the materials that I made my discoveries. A twist of Wyrd suddenly left me poor, ill and in dire straits. The only thing I had was this. There was no other help coming, so it was “make it or break it” time. Through applications of these principles, I made it.

Later, when counseling and working with troubled folks, I had reason to apply it again. It worked! The only times it failed is when the other person refused to be helped. You cannot help someone who is bound and determined to keep both feet firmly planted in Nidhogg’s Playground.

Willi’s lessons are perhaps a twentieth part of all I teach. They were crucial, as they provided the core of my expanding knowledge. Without them, none of this could happen. To this day, they are still the core element of much that I do here. However, my appreciation of it all is greater because of my experiences using it in the everyday world, under conditons that could be adverse in the extreme.

I wrote The Road to Bifrost in 1990. Were it not for the adverse circumstances that I had faced in the 1980s, I doubt it would be half as good

    Hi Uncle Thor,

Forgive me, for I am new to your discourse, but who is Willi? What is the background on this? Can you say more?

Willi, a.k.a “Onkel Wilhelm”, introduced me to the Runes in the early 70s. He later taught me the Old Wisdom.
